Bristol 10 K
I ran the Bristol 10 K today as part of my warm up for the Northern Mountains.
I was delighted to record my fastest time for a 10 K in over 3 years, (56 Minutes) ... However my personal joy at my own performance is completely eclipsed by my pride in my son (Tom) who recorded a time of 41 Minutes (putting him 398th out of 10,000).

South Wales - The First Stage of the Challenge
The first stage of the Climb Every Mountain challenge, involved an ascent of all of the 2500ft + summits in South Wales.
The peaks in question in South Wales are -:
Pen y Fan (886m), Waun Fach (881m), Fan Brycheiniog (807m), Waun Rydd (769m)
These peaks are in three separate ranges, The Brecon Beacons, The Black Mountains and the Black Mountain.
To climb all four summits, one has to walk over 26 miles.
I am delighted to say that I was able to complete the challenge, reaching the tops of all four summits within a 24 hour period.
The weather was just perfect, and the views spectacular.
It was great to have the company of my two boys (Tom and Sam). We were also joined by our friends; Paul, Tom and Harry - who enjoyed their first ever outing into the mountains of Wales.
